New Spinning Up a Level Module // Fibre & Finishing
We’re happy to now share with you the second module in our latest workshop series, Spinning Up A Level, taught by Katrina Stewart! Following the first module, Fibre Prep & Draft, the second module is all about fibre and how to choose the appropriate spinning technique and finishing method to get the results you want with your handspun yarn.
There are so many kinds of fibre, you’re sure to find something you love perfect for your finished project. Katrina chats about the attributes of different fibres one should keep in mind when selecting what you want to spin for a specific project. And then once your fibre is chosen, the spinning and finishing options to finish your handspun yarn.
Click here for Spinning Up a Level Module Two with Katrina! And don’t forget to also share your progress with us in the SOS community forums where Katrina can help with any questions you may have, and we can celebrate your progress along the way!
Also, if you’d like to practice each drafting technique using a collection of fibres, we’ve created a sampling of SweetGeorgia Yarns’ fibre bases and Katrina’s CraftyJak’s Boutique carded batts for you to explore. Shop the Spinning Sampler Pack here!
New Knitting Tutorials
We have two new knitting tutorials available at the School! Filmed alongside the recent SweetGeorgia Holiday Vol. 6 pattern collection release, we hope these videos help knitters make their way through steps in the two knit patterns included in the collection.
