As shared yesterday in Felicia’s Lo Meets Loom vlog episode, we are so very excited to share with you the launch of The Intentional Weaver course, now live at the SOS site!

Taught by Laura Fry, Canadian Master Weaver, this course shares Laura’s techniques to help weavers prevent getting injured through doing the craft they love. Throughout the lessons, we talk about how to hold your body, how to stand, and how to ensure you’re not instigating inflammation in your body, preventing repetitive stress injury for as much as possible.

Laura Fry coaching Felicia for Intentional Weaver course

One of the unique aspects of this course is that we have Felicia serve as the student, joining Laura on-screen for first-hand coaching. Through the learning of these movements and techniques, we also learn the importance of recognizing that we don’t necessarily “get it” the first time – that it may take practice before it becomes efficient. A practice that requires attention and intention.

Learn more at The Intentional Weaver! We’d also love to hear and follow along with you as you work through this fantastic course. If you have any questions or chat to share, share with us over in the SOS forums!

Weaving Study Group // Week Two

We’re into week two of our weaving study group at the School and this week is all about winding warps and dressing the loom! We look at the ergonomics and physical tasks of winding warps and dressing looms, encouraging you to watch Laura Fry’s lessons demonstrating her methods. Read more at Felicia’s week two update »

Don’t forget to also join us over in the SOS forums group to share your project plans, goals and progress, plus to join in all of the study group chat! And we’re tagging our Instagram posts with #sosweavingstudygroup and #schoolofsweetgeorgia!
