Member Update // New Workshop Series: Learn to Design a Sweater!
Following courses we’ve previously released teaching students how to knit, how to master gauge, up to the knitting of your first sweater, we’re super excited to now share with you the beginning of our latest workshop series helping you gain the skills and confidence to design your own knitted garment!
Now Available // Leah Learns Design
How do you go about designing a sweater? Where would you even start? These are the questions our video editor, Leah Churchley brought to Tabetha Hedrick when she found a cardigan she just had to make! In this series, Tabetha will be leading Leah through the process of dreaming up and knitting up a design from scratch.
In this series, Tabetha and Leah will go over:
- conceptualizing a design through sketching and swatching
- determining measurements, row counts, and stitch counts
- troubleshooting tips
- finishing
- taking your design further with other sizes, finalizing it for sale, etc.

Upcoming Live Workshop // Spinning with E-Spinners
Reminder that our third SOS live workshop takes place early next week… don’t miss Spinning with E-Spinners, taught by Debbie Held! In this workshop, Debbie will talk about spinning using an electric spinning wheel, an e-spinner, such as models like the Ashford E-Spinner, Hansen Minispinner, and Nano EEW.
ZOOM WORKSHOP DATE: July 13, 2020 at 10am PST. (Note this is a rest day if you are participating in the Tour de Fleece.)
