November is near complete… it’s been a month since we first started our SOS Spinning Up a Level workshop series, and today we’re happy to now share with you the third module in the series…
Spinning Up a Level // Twist & Ply
In this latest module release taught by Katrina Stewart, we continue learning about (and practicing!) designing the exact yarn we want. We talk about twist, why it’s important, and how we can measure it to get the singles we need for the yarn we want to create. Katrina also discusses the benefits of rewinding your singles, as well as a neat plying method that can help manage imperfections in your singles.
Join us at Spinning Up a Level and explore how you can go from a beginner spinner to a spinner that can plan the exact kind of yarn they want to spin for a specific project. And don’t forget to share your progress with us in the SOS community forums where you can also ask any questions and share photos of your spinning journey along the way!
If you’re looking for new fibres and colours to inspire and enjoy while practicing your spinning skills, we’re happy to share with you our new SweetGeorgia handpainted variegated colourways – 2021 Exclusive Colourways on Spinning Fibres! Each of the nine colours is available on all five of our fibre bases: BFL+Silk, Panda, Polwarth+Silk, Superwash BFL and Targhee. Shop the new spinning fibre colourways here!
We’re also working on putting together more of our popular Spinning Sampler sets, which include a sampling of SweetGeorgia Yarns’ fibre bases and Katrina’s CraftyJak’s Boutique carded batts for you to explore!
