New Course // Knitting with Hand-Dyed Colour

We’re super excited to share with you this latest addition to the SOS site: Knitting with Hand-Dyed Colour taught by Felicia Lo Wong!

In this course, Felicia teaches how to develop a working understanding of colour so you can more confidently choose colours and colour combinations for your crafts. By the end of this course, we want you to have more than just definitions of colour theory terms, but to be able to pick up any skein of yarn in any colour, and have an idea of what you would combine with it and why. To look at a knitting pattern and be able to envision what colours you would use for it and why.

We’ll learn about traditional colour combinations and harmonies, and then expand and morph those combinations into unique palettes. Colours that express yourself and your identity. We talk about how to apply these colour combinations to knitting specifically, but these same considerations can be made for any other craft that you’re doing – whether it’s crochet, weaving or quilting.

Now Available // Spinning Mix-In Sets

Inspired by the treasure trove of luxurious spinning fibres that Debbie Held showed in our Blending Boards: From Rolags to Rovings course, we decided to create a starter set of spinning “mix-ins” that you can sprinkle into your carded batt preparations. Mix and combine these in your blending board creations or drum carded batts to add sparkle, gloss, shine and texture!
