In this workshop, we'll be looking at the techniques for traditional stranded colourwork and how to make it modern through motif, texture, and colour. We'll be looking at working with hand-dyed colours in a colourwork piece as well as the challenges of using popular superwash-treated yarns for colourwork projects.

This workshop is focused very simply on helping you take better photographs of your textiles. If you have ever needed to take a photo of your yarn, your spinning fibre, your skein of handspun, or a sweater that you knit. By the end of this workshop, I want you to be taking photographs of your yarn and textiles that are more accurate colour-wise, more effective composition-wise, and that will serve your purposes — as archival reference or as personal or profession promotion.

This mini-workshop will walk you through the basics of working with colour and help you feel more confident about creating your own palettes and colour combinations for your projects. In our time together, we will play and combine different colours based on a variety of inspirations and then find different ways to knit them together to produce completely unique results.
