Nuances to Spinning Better Yarns

0% Complete
0/0 Steps

One of the things I like to do with leftover bits of yarn or small skeins is I make my own neps, to blend into wool, when I’m using the blending board and what this does is gives a nice little pops of colour. And I like sort of subtle pops of colour. So I like yarns that go easily with the colours I’m using.

I will show you how to make neps and how to add them to rolags or roving on a blending board.

  • Adding neps to rovings on a blending board  4:51-07:36
  • Adding neps to rolags on a blending board 07:36-11:52
  • Length of fibre & choosing dowels 11:52-16:37
  • How to choose fibre for rovings vs rolags, considerations to choose your draft 16:37-end
