The Picot Bind Off is a fun way to add a bobble-like border to your projects using just cable cast ons and bind offs. You can get more distance between the stitches by binding off more stitches, or you can put them right next to each other by binding off less stitches. You can even make your picot points smaller by casting on a few stitches less, or bigger by casting on a few stitches more.

At out our new Picot Bind Off tutorial, Tabetha Hedrick @tabismiles shows how there can be lots of variety and variation, and how it can be such a fun way to border your knits!

#ProKnitTip :: Did you know that industry standard is five to seven knots or joins in a skein of yarn? I think I had a total of three for this whole sweater project and that was way more than what I usually encounter.

Joins in a skein of yarn don't signify a substandard product. Let's talk about how to deal with them.

I always cut them out. Here I didn't cut it as I was knitting, I just made a big loop and "rejoined" the yarn and kept on going; I didn't want to interrupt my knitting flow. Now I'll cut it and weave in the two ends.

How to you deal with joins in your knitting? Tell me in the comments.

This is one of the many tips I mention in my Fundamentals to Finishing Course over at schoolofsweetgeorgia. Membership to the School gives you unlimited access to my course along with all the other great offerings. #ad Tap the link in my bio to check it out!
