Craft Without Chaos

In this lecture, I talk about making time and space for your craft — everything from making physical space to creating mental space in order to pursue creativity.
Felicia Lo · January 1, 2009

This was a lecture that I delivered a few years ago for a local spinning and weaving guild. Years later, the principles still ring true and since we’ve just started the new year, the idea of clearing the decks and getting ready for a new year of creative projects has been at the forefront of my mind. In order to begin my big Epic Cloth project for the year, I’ve been focused on cleaning, purging, and planning. So, I think this topic is timely and hope that it might help some of you as well.

In this lecture, I talk about making time and space for your craft — everything from making physical space to creating mental space in order to pursue creativity. While I won’t be talking about specific weaving or spinning techniques, I feel like this topic is important and relevant to anybody who has a passion for making things.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about organization methods or techniques that work for you when it comes to creativity and making things »
