Lesson 5 of 7
In Progress

Conclusion

Felicia Lo July 23, 2018

So I know you want to get started on knitting up your colour palettes and swatches, so I don’t want to hold you up. But just to quickly recap, today we talked about the three main variables when describing colour, hue, value, and saturation. We also talked about the fundamental, classic colour harmonies such as monochromatic, analogous, complementary, and split complementary. And we played with different colours in a variety of combinations using those classic colour harmonies as a starting point, and then modifying and extending those palettes by adding unexpected or variegated colours to the mix.

This is really JUST THE BEGINNING of an exploration in colour — the theory, the science, and the art. I really hope that you have enjoyed this time playing with colour and I look forward to seeing what you have created with these palettes! You can find us on Instagram as @schoolofsweetgeorgia and be sure to tag your posts with #sweetgeorgiacolourplay so we can find you there.

And with that, thank you so much for being here today. From all of us at SweetGeorgia, thank you again and enjoy colour!
