The tubular cast on is an invisible cast on that’s great for hems, cuffs, and ribbing edges where you want to have a bit of elasticity. It creates a super stretchy and beautiful edging for your knit pieces, and in Tabetha`s @tabismiles new How to Work a Tubular Cast On post, you can find a step-by-step tutorial on how to work these cast on stitches!

Lisa Congdon calls it loud quitting: an assertive and unapologetic no to everything in her life she finds draining, feels done with, one-sided, obligatory, without purpose or joy. Sounds cathartic. If project management is a matter of managing our motivation, then loud quitting is the decision to face our setbacks and hang-ups, evaluate the project, and get rid of it completely. It is time to get frogging.
At Amanda Buckley`s @mandythephilomath new article `Frogging & The Art of Project Management`, continue reading about frogging and the anatomy of a quit. We can undo a little bit to fix an error, or we can undo the whole lot and reclaim the yarn. Both options are valuable tools in the art of project management. Have you ever wished you knew exactly what yarn to get in a rush order or trip to an LYS, that you could predict the finished drape and feel of your project, or (gasp) could skip gauge swatching? I have some tips and tricks on creating a gauge library to help you with all three of the objectives above. (Okay, you might not be able to skip gauge swatching; Tabetha Hedrick, SweetGeorgia’s guru of gauge, is watching me! But having a gauge library will make that step go by just a little quicker!)
Continue reading Ruth Nguyen`s @redearthdesignstudio new How to Create a Gauge Library article, where we hope you are inspired to start your own. Knowledge is power, and knowledge that is catalogued and easy to access is that much more powerful—especially when it comes to our knitting and crochet projects!

How do you learn to design a sweater? Where would you even start? What features would you want your garment to have? These are the questions our SOS video editor, Leah @thecraftycolon, brought to Tabetha @tabismiles when she thought of a cardigan she just had to make.
With the final lesson now available, it`s time to see the beautiful cabled cardigan Leah desgined from scratch with Tabetha`s help at Leah Learns Design! Leah shares her custom design sweater, what she would improve the next time she designs a garment, and what she learnt from the design process.

Sweater knitting can be a daunting task as there seems to be so many steps and so many places where it can all go wrong. But, just like any life challenge, if you break the large task into small manageable ones, you can start knitting sweaters like a pro!
Part of the Knit Your First Sweater course at the schoolofsweetgeorgia, the Flannery sweater pattern (also available for individual download) has recently been updated by Tabetha tabismiles. Now including a handy-dandy little spreadsheet (on Google Sheets), it will enable you to plug in your stitch and row gauge, along with your own measurements, to get completely customized stitch and row counts for the pattern!
All you have to do is buy Flannery and click the “Customize Your Sweater” link and that’ll take you to the spreadsheet. Copy it over to your own Google Drive and you’ll be able to use it over and over again (without having to do any math). AND, to make it even easier, you can get Flannery for 20% off with the code HOLDALONGSWEATER until the end of February 14th. It’s the perfect oversized, cozy sweater!
I have been trying to design a triangular shawl. I can’t stop making charts, finding bunch of mistakes and fixing them! This is so addicting 😍 I took designing course at schoolofsweetgeorgia and it has been very helpful ❤️

If there’s a universal truth in the world of fibre arts, it’s that fibre artists love colour! Embroidery on knit fabric is one of the oldest methods of adding colour because it works perfectly with the structure. As multicraftual makers, we have the skills (or the ability to learn) to combine crafts for that much more joy and colour!
