Two of the designs in the Tempest collection use a Centred Double Decrease: Stormwatch and Eventide.
The Centred Double Decrease is worked the same way in both stitch patterns.
First up is the lace pattern in Stormwatch
Slip 2 stitches at the same time knitwise.
Knit one.
Pass 2 stitches over.

A “raised increase” the least disruptive to the knitted stitches around it and if only a single raised increase is worked, it’s virtually invisible in a ground of stockinette stitch!
