At the now available Module Two: Long Wools of the Spinning Sheep Breeds course, join instructor Rachel Smith in an exploration of long wools with different fibre preparations, from dyed and undyed, just combed and commercial top. Rachel talks about the beauty of the lustre, strength, and the combing of these wools, which would make an incredible lace yarn to work with, either for weaving or for a lacy shawl with big open yarn overs. In this week’s update, we’re excited to share a new, extensive spinning course with you – Spinning Sheep Breeds, taught by Rachel Smith! This course explores various sheep breeds available to spinners, and in the course Rachel talks about what classifies them within each category, reflections about the yarns we can create with these various wools and the uses for these yarns. This week we also want to share an updated discount code for SOS members shopping at the SweetGeorgia shop.
Our latest SOS course, Knitting with Hand-Dyed Colour taught by Felicia Lo Wong, is now available to all SOS Members! In this course, Felicia teaches how to develop a functional working understanding of colour so you can more confidently choose colours and colour combinations for your crafts. Today’s update also includes information about our new Spinning Mix-In sets available at the SweetGeorgia site, for fun colour play while working through our latest Blending Boards workshop with Debbie Held!

The blending board can be your go-to fibre prep tool above all others, and a few inexpensive additions can take this simple tool to the next level.
